Made in a local home kitchen, a shrub is a non-alcoholic syrup made of a combination of concentrated fruits (elderberries in this case), aromatics, sugar and vinegar. Heritage Provisions Shrubs use seasonal fruits and Braggs Apple Cider Vinegar, with the mother, to create probiotic rich syrup. Although you could drink it in its own, a shrub is best enjoyed by adding to bubbly water to make a soda or fun alcoholic cocktail.

To make a soda, just add 1 1/2 parts shrub mixture to 2 to 3 parts soda or tonic water, aka bubbly water (more or less bubbly water can be added, given your taste preference). To make a boozy shrub cocktail, add 1 part shrub mixture to 1 part alcohol to 2 to 3 parts bubbly water.
